Bobbie Jean Pettiford, age 68, of Decatur, Georgia, passed away on July 29, 2026. She was born on November 4, 1957, in Plainfield, New Jersey, to her loving mother, Christine Pettiford.
From an early age, Bobbie embraced life with a sense of adventure and joy. She found true love at a young age and married the love of her life, Glen Goins.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her mother, Christine Pettiford; her beloved son, Kassette; and her husband, Glen.
Bobbie’s adventurous spirit led her to an exciting career in the airline and travel industries. In the early 1980s, she began working for Eastern Airlines and later joined American Express. Her career with American Express brought her to Georgia, where she would ultimately make her home and build a life filled with family, faith, friendship, and love.
After relocating to Stone Mountain, Georgia, Bobbie devoted her life to Christ and became an active and faithful member of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church. Her faith was an important part of who she was, and she found great joy in serving others. She especially loved working with children and youth. With her warm heart, patience, and nurturing spirit, Bobbie touched the lives of hundreds of young people throughout the years.
Her love for children eventually led her to become a caregiver for the Hoffenberg family, where she lovingly cared for their three children, Gabe, Temma, and Bennett.
To know Bobbie was to know someone who brought energy, laughter, and joy wherever she went. She was known to be the life of the party. Her vibrant personality, generous heart, and adventurous spirit created countless memories that will be cherished by all who knew her.
Bobbie’s greatest legacy is not simply in the places she traveled or the careers she held, but in the people she loved, the children she nurtured, the lives she touched, and the memories she created. She will be deeply missed, but her love, laughter, and spirit will live on through her family and all those fortunate enough to have known her.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Nisha Harden (Roderick); daughter-in-law, Brittany Goins (Kassette); granddaughters, Janiah Smith and Alyssa Harden; grandsons, Fuerquan Kaleb Goins; along with extended family, friends, and countless loved ones whose lives she touched.
Though her earthly journey has come to an end, Bobbie’s love and legacy will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
