Barbara Jean Andrews

Barbara Jean Finch Andrews, born on February 28, 1950, in Woodville, Georgia, to the late Grady and Annie Pearl Finch, passed away recently, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness. She graduated from David T. Howard High School in Atlanta, Georgia, and devoted her life to nurturing relationships and serving her community.

Although Barbara did not have children of her own, she embraced the role of a mother figure to countless individuals across generations, touching the lives of many with her nurturing spirit. Her passion for music and dance brought joy to those around her, and her culinary talents made her gatherings lively and memorable. Barbara dedicated over 15 years of her life as a Dietitian Cook at Parkview Manor Nursing Home, following her entrepreneurial venture of owning a restaurant and previous employment at the Old Hickory House.

In 1980, she married the late Benjamin Andrews and later moved to Paradise East in 2005, where she formed numerous bonds that solidified her sense of family within her community.

Barbara is survived by two sisters, Rudine Smith and Dorothy (Johnny) Hopson; two brothers, Eddie Finch and Grady (Gail) Finch; as well as her sister-in-law, Inez Finch (Alonzo). She is preceded in death by her siblings Kathrine Brisco, Maratha Smith, Vernell Finch (Latimore), and Alonzo Finch. She leaves behind a loving extended family of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends who will cherish her memory, alongside her special friend, Robert Anderson.

Her vibrant spirit and generous heart will be greatly missed, but she will forever be remembered as a mother to many and a cherished friend to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
