It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Eloy Gerardo Cano, 65, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, on May 7, 2025.

Born on March 25, 1960, in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, Eloy was a dedicated husband and father. He moved to the United States in 1984, driven by the desire to create a better life for his family. Throughout his life, Eloy demonstrated remarkable resilience and an unwavering spirit, bravely battling terminal cancer for the past two years to be there for his loved ones. Following a surgical procedure in March that aimed to provide him some relief, he entered a rehabilitation facility with the hope of returning to his home.

In the days leading up to his passing, Eloy faced sudden illness and, despite the rapid decline from pneumonia, he remained surrounded by his family. He peacefully passed away in the early afternoon of May 7, 2025, with his wife, Luz Maria Cano, and his sons by his side.

Eloy is survived by his beloved wife, Luz Maria Cano; his sons Gerardo (Leandra), Eloy (Christine), Mario, and Steve; his cherished grandchildren Dylan Rubio, Gabriel Cano, Keegan Rubio, Sophia Ramirez, Adrian Cano, Lily Ramirez, Kylo Cano, and Penelope Cano; and his sister Blanca Stella Cano Nunez. He was preceded in death by his father, Eloy Cano; his mother, Hortencia Nunez Corral; and his brother, Joel Cano.

A celebration of Eloy's life took place on May 10, 2025, at his son’s residence, allowing family and friends to come together in remembrance. In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to assist with final arrangements, which may be sent directly to Luz Cano via Zelle at 470-307-2839.

Eloy will be remembered for his love, dedication, and strength, leaving a lasting legacy in the hearts of those who knew him.

Con profundo pesar anunciamos el fallecimiento de Eloy Gerardo Cano, de 65 años, residente de Lawrenceville, Georgia, el 7 de mayo de 2025.

Nacido el 25 de marzo de 1960 en Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, México, Eloy fue un esposo y padre dedicado. Se mudó a Estados Unidos en 1984, impulsado por el deseo de crear una vida mejor para su familia. A lo largo de su vida, Eloy demostró una resiliencia notable y un espíritu inquebrantable, luchando con valentía contra un cáncer terminal durante los últimos dos años para estar presente con sus seres queridos. Tras una cirugía en marzo para aliviar su dolor, ingresó en un centro de rehabilitación con la esperanza de regresar a su hogar.

En los días previos a su fallecimiento, Eloy enfrentó una enfermedad repentina y, a pesar de la rápida recuperación de la neumonía, permaneció rodeado de su familia. Falleció en paz la tarde del 7 de mayo de 2025, acompañado de su esposa, Luz María Cano, y sus hijos.

A Eloy le sobreviven su amada esposa, Luz María Cano; sus hijos Gerardo (Leandra), Eloy (Christine), Mario y Steve; sus queridos nietos Dylan Rubio, Gabriel Cano, Keegan Rubio, Sophia Ramírez, Adrián Cano, Lily Ramírez, Kylo Cano y Penélope Cano; y su hermana Blanca Stella Cano Núñez. Le precedieron en la muerte su padre, Eloy Cano; su madre, Hortencia Núñez Corral; y su hermano, Joel Cano.

El 10 de mayo de 2025 se celebró una conmemoración en la residencia de su hijo, lo que permitió a familiares y amigos reunirse en su memoria.
