The late Stacey Demetrius Mc Daniel was born on September 6, 1962 to Cornelius McDaniel and Nellie Ruth Darby in East Point at Fort McPhearson Army Base. Stacey was called home by the creator (as he would say) on August 20, 2024. At an early age Stacey dedicated his life to Christ and was baptized at Forest Chapel Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. RL Newby.
He attended the City of Decatur School System. Stacey began to work long before completing high school, working with his grandfather, James Henderson. Most of his work history was with Hormel Foods and Marta Transportation where he was a dedicated driver for the disabled community. He was also a licensed electrician.
Stacey was preceded in death by his wife Gail McDaniel, Grandparents Mattie Anthony, James and Ozzie Henderson, Mother Nellie Ruth Darby, Father Cornelius Mc Daniel, Brother Perry Willis.
Stacey loved sports his favorite football team is the Pittsburgh Steelers and basketball is Atlanta Hawks. He also loved watching a good boxing fight. In addition to watching sports, Stacey played & coached baseball for many years.
Stacey was a loving, supportive son, brother, father, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend to many. Stacey leaves behind to cherish three loving and dedicated children. Durante Partridge(Mesita), Shanda Gillispie and Sesaleigh McDaniel, two step daughters Sharonda Hinton(Curtis) and Shamell Hill(Mario). 13 grandkids, four siblings Reginald McKibben(Carole), Kenneth McKibben, Trina McKibben and Dana Darby. Uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and a host of cousins, extended family members and special friend, Paulette Boggs.
